Sambiloto




Sambiloto is a medicinal plant in the form of an upright terna which can reach 90 centimeters in height. Originally suspected from tropical Asia. Its distribution from India extends south to Siam, east to the Malay peninsula, then Java. It grows well in the lowlands to an altitude of 700 meters above sea level. Sambiloto can grow well in rainfall 2000-3000 mm / year and temperatures 25-32 degrees Celsius. The required humidity is moderate, which is 70-90% with long exposure. The regional names for bitter are among others: sambilata (Malay); ampadu tanah (West Sumatra); bitter, ki pait, bidara, andiloto (Central Java); ki oray (Sundanese); pepaitan (Madura), while the foreign name is Chuan xin lien (Chinese).
