Ginger




Ginger (Zingiber officinale), is a rhizome plant that is very popular as a spice and medicinal ingredient. Rhizome-shaped fingers are bulging in the middle segments. The spicy dominant taste is caused by a ketone compound called zingeron.
Ginger belongs to the Zingiberaceae tribe (findings). The scientific name for ginger was given by William Roxburgh from the Greek word zingiberi, from Sanskrit, singaberi.

The efficacy of ginger can not be doubted for thousands of years. Not only is it used as one of the spices that strengthen and add to the enjoyment of cooking, ginger turns out to also be beneficial for health, including the following:
1.        Helps Relieve Nausea
Nausea is often a complaint of women, especially when they are pregnant and exploring the first trimester. However, now it does not need to worry anymore, because nausea can be relieved easily, simply by consuming ginger cooking water.
2.       Helps Lose Weight
Consuming warm ginger cooking water as a companion when breakfast turns out to be good for maintaining your weight, you know! The efficacy of this ginger plays a role in giving you a longer feeling of fullness, it also helps reduce your appetite, so you don't get carried away by eating snacks before lunch.
3.       Helps Reduce Pain
Ginger contains natural compounds phenol and gingerol which have anti-pain properties. The existence of this natural ingredient makes ginger help reduce the pain that arises when you experience inflammation of the stomach or stomach cramps when you are menstruating. Ginger can also relieve muscle aches that often occur after you exercise. Ginger is able to work more effectively in relieving headaches compared to just taking pain medication.
4.       Control Blood Sugar Levels and Prevent Diabetes
Efficacy of ginger in controlling blood sugar levels in the body is no longer just a figment. This one herb also helps regulate the response of insulin in people with diabetes. Not only that, the anti-inflammatory properties of ginger also help prevent complications that can occur due to diabetes, including heart disease, retinopathy, to stroke. The benefits can be even more maximal if the ginger water stew is added with cinnamon powder.

5.       Fight Osteoarthritis and Rheumatism
Gingerol, zingeron, and gingerdione contained in ginger work actively in reducing the natural substances in the body that trigger inflammation. There's more oleoresin compounds that participate against inflammation that occurs in the body. That is, regular consumption of ginger cooking water helps reduce inflammation that results in osteoarthritis and rheumatic diseases.
